The QEPrize is asking young people with an interest in science, engineering, design art and architecture to design an iconic trophy that embodies the spirit of modern engineering.
Participants are asked to use a design application on QEPrize's website to design, build and create the trophy. Top entries will be 3D printed into prototypes to allow the judges to view the creations with their designers before selecting the winner.
The final trophy will be presented by Queen Elizabeth to the winner of the prize. The winner of the competition will also receive £5,000.
The QEPrize is a global £1m prize that celebrates world-changing innovations in engineering that have made a difference to humanity.
The ‘Create the Trophy’ competition is open to all UK residents aged between 16 and 24. If that’s you see www.qeprize.org/trophy to get started.
The deadline for submitting designs is 9am on 12 November 2012.
