Engineering and manufacturing firms have been named among the best 60 companies in the country at providing career opportunities for young people.
Career website RateMyApprenticeship's Top 60 Employers listing, which is based on more than 2,500 reviews from school leavers, included defence firms, car manufacturers, energy companies and engineering companies.
Household names such as Unilever (2), GlaxoSmithKline (19), General Electric (33), Nestle (44), Network Rail (23) and Siemens (16) were acknowledged in the listing.
Car manufacturers singled out by young people were: BMW (38), Jaguar Land Rover (29), Mercedes AMG (25), PSA Peugeot Citroen (49), and Vauxhall (47).
Meanwhile, defence companies BAE Systems (10), DSTL (41), and Selex ES (12) were recognised.
The RateMyApprenticeship listing also acknowledged energy companies EDF Energy (20) and National Grid (9).
Meanwhile, engineering and construction firms Amec Foster Wheeler (56), Arup (16), Costain (27), Lang O'Rourke (28), Mott MacDonald (34) also made the top 60.
