Manufacturing industry of the 21st century offers some of the most challenging and rewarding career opportunities available to technically excellent and ambitious graduates. Multinational companies based in the UK require high calibre manufacturing engineers to manage the industrial technologies in production facilities across the world.
The Innovative Manufacturing Engineering Consortium is a group of multinational companies who have joined forces to provide dedicated sponsored support for the IMechE and IET accredited Innovative Manufacturing Engineering (MEng) degree programme, within the Wolfson School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering at Loughborough University.

The companies recognise the need to provide integrated training throughout a high quality manufacturing engineering degree programme, with opportunities to spend significant time with a number of the consortium members. The consortium provides a dedicated route to graduate employment and career, at the end of the degree programme.
Sponsorship package
The sponsorship package provides the undergraduates with financial support throughout the four years of the MEng degree programme, along with dedicated training during the first three years, at different companies. The degree programme offers the following opportunities:
- Students receive dedicated financial support
- Sponsorship is not means tested
- Integrated industrial placements in Years 1, 2 and 3
- Salaried training at different companies
- Dedicated route to employment with the companies
Our Requirements
Students should be studying GCE A-levels (or equivalent) in Mathematics/Physics, Mathematics/Design & Technology, or Mathematics/Engineering, plus one other A-level. Students should be expecting to achieve high grades (typically AAB or better).
